Alfredo Morelos has returned from the summer break on fire.
As floodlights lit up the stadium at Ibrox, the Colombian lit up the pitch. Two goals and assist changed the game as the 23-year-old striker continued his electric start to the season.
But his nine goals in eight games haven’t just helped him into Rangers folklore. They’re proving that keeping the £20m man is the best piece of business we’ve done all window.
So far at least.
The only thing frightening about Alfredo Morelos’ goalscoring form and robust, combative, aggressive forward performances is the notion other teams will come sniffing around him.
Rangers have their price for Morelos and should it be met, we’d be much weaker for it.
Not only has the striker started this season on sublime form, but there is a growing maturity in his game.
He’s biting his lip instead of biting to the opposition’s tactics.
The Colombian is proving himself on the pitch and the refreshing thing is he appears to be gaining more in his physical battles rather than losing them.
The prospect of his edge blunting when trying to curb that aggression was a real fear for Rangers fans.

But if anything the striker is looking sharper and much more deadly, at least in front of goal and on the pitch.
There will be bigger tests to come for Morelos – both in big games and of his resolve – but as it stands if Rangers keep the wee man it’ll prove to be the finest move of the window.
Who knows, maybe he’ll even be worth £30m come next summer.
