Leading Scottish football journalist Raman Bhardwaj has confirmed that Anderlecht’s £7m man Kemar Roofe “remains a target” for Rangers.
The STV broadcaster also suggested – similarly to BBC Scotland – that Lille are yet to make an offer for Alfredo Morelos.
However, journalist Andy Newport has now refuted these claims by suggesting Lille have made a bid for Morelos which is a “mile off” Rangers’ valuation of the striker.
Newport also claims “no further talks” are planned.
Leading French football journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi had earlier suggested that Morelos had agreed personal terms with the French side with a fee to be negotiated between the two clubs.
Whilst Bhardwaj describes Lille as “defo” being interested, his claims that they have made no official offer have been refuted by Andy Newport.
As for Roofe, Anderlecht splashed out £7m to bring the striker to Belgium last season [Goal] but it’s believed they could deal at closer to £5.4m in this window [Voetbal24].
According to the 4th Official, Rangers will not sell Morelos unless they get a ‘substantially tempting’ bid, with their interesting in Roofe persisting despite the ongoing situation with the Colombian.
Rangers were linked with a move for Roofe last season before Anderlecht pounced on the former Leeds United forward [Scottish Sun].
Rangers fans believe that the club should not be considering the sale of Alfredo Morelos for any less than £20m in this transfer window.

Reports in the UK first linking Lille with a move for the player suggested the Ligue 1 outfit would be willing to part with up to £15m for the striker’s services [Daily Mail, 23/07/20, p.89].
Alfredo Morelos joined Rangers for £1m in 2017 and has gone on to score 77 goals and make 29 assists in 137 games for the Ibrox side.
