Rangers recruited well in January, exciting and talented youngsters have been brought in to provide competition and to push regulars like Rabbi Matondo who maybe haven’t hit the heights that were expected of them.
The Wales international was tipped to solve the problem right wing role but had played all his best football on the left before arriving at Ibrox for a fee said to be around the £2m mark.
After being replaced by new Rangers signing Oscar Cortes, Rabbi Matondo has been asked about the competition for places.

Gers boss Philippe Clement talks all the time about it being a squad game, that no player who steps out at Ibrox is any more important than the next.
In any title challenge, every player has to play their part and the 23-year old winger is fully aware of why Cortes has been brought in:
“Oscar arriving brings good pressure. I’ve seen glimpses in training and he came on in this game.
“He’s obviously a good player and it’s good competition. We need that with the number of games we have.
“It’s positive for the team to bring in a player of his quality.”
On paper, Matondo’s three goals and four assists don’t look impressive but, he has managed them in just 800 minutes of football.
Staying fit has been the problem.
His last three starts have seen two assists and his goal against Livingston, proving that he is yet another player who Philippe Clement is getting a tune out of.
Rabbi Matondo also said that he is fully aware of the need to do better in terms of goals and assists and the arrival of Cortes should act as a spur.
He has the pace to scare defenders but needs to improve his composure in terms of his final ball and finishing.
With Cortes breathing down his neck, if he doesn’t, he’ll be watching from the bench again.
