Rangers have reached a “verbal agreement” with Liverpool over Ryan Kent, at least according to Football Insider.

The report follows on from yesterday’s claims that Rangers have first option on the winger [STV] should Liverpool decide to loan him out.

But the Football Insider report is a little more definite and suggests that Liverpool have agreed to loan Ryan Kent to Rangers provided it is OK’d by manager Jurgen Klopp.

Steven Gerrard has spoken consistently about his desire to sign Kent but admitted that any move was “in Liverpool’s hands”.

From the outside looking in it appears that the situation with Ryan Kent really depends on whether or not someone bids for the winger.

Liverpool are reportedly holding out for a permanent sale of the player in this window, with some reports suggesting they want £12m for his services.

But with the Anfield club reportedly in for the likes of Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio, it is more conducive to Kent’s development to go back out on-loan if he doesn’t secure a permanent transfer.

The favoured destination in that instance, for all three parties, appears to be Ibrox. At least according to the plethora of reports on the matter.

Now, as the Premier League window enters its final furlong we’ll await the decision of Liverpool and Ryan Kent.

Should Kent sign on at Ibrox, he could potentially be the club’s ninth signing of the window.

Going by reports, an agreement over signing number eight appears to be imminent.
