A 2021/22 Rangers season ticket update has been provided by the club’s supporters liaison officer on Twitter as an ‘unprecedented response’ causes delays.

Last week, the Gers announced that season ticket renewals had opened [Rangers.co.uk].

Key figures at the club then spoke out to promote renewals, with managing director Stewart Robertson, manager Steven Gerrard and captain James Tavernier all thanking fans for their remarkable support this season.

Tens of thousands of supporters invested in a season ticket for the current campaign and none of them have actually seen a game in the flesh, with all home fixtures taking place behind closed doors due to Covid restrictions.

It’s hoped that that won’t be the case next season, with at least limited attendances likely.

However, with no confirmation to that end, there’s still a huge amount of uncertainty about what supporters will get for their money.

That doesn’t appear to be putting many off, though, as the loyalty of the club’s fanbase shines through once again.

On Tuesday afternoon, SLO Greg Marshall provided an update on Twitter on behalf of Rangers.

“The club would like to thank supporters for an unprecedented response to Season Ticket renewals,” he wrote.

“As a result, confirmation from both Bank Transfer & Debit/Credit Card payments may take a few additional working days. Please bear with us and thanks for your invaluable support.”

When supporters are allowed back into Ibrox, there’ll certainly be no problem filling the stadium.

Clearly, despite the disappointment of Sunday’s Scottish Cup exit at the hands of St Johnstone, fans are very much on board with the current regime and optimistic about the future after the league title was delivered so emphatically.

In other news, the SPFL have made a major partnership announcement that affects Rangers fans.
