The recent fall-out from every Rangers win has been laughable as Philippe Clement sets about achieving the most unlikely of title successes.
Apparently, the Scottish Cup is no different after the Gers boss oversaw an eventful win over Hibernian at Easter Road in a fiery encounter.
Rangers ran out deserved winners and yet Philippe Clement still had to field questions about the officiating, despite them getting every big call right with the Four Lads Had a Dream blog having a theory about why there is so much outrage.

To get them out of the way:
- It was the clearest penalty you will ever see.
- When on your last warning, don’t obstruct or elbow an opponent in the face.
- Don’t jump two-footed, at speed, at an opponent if you don’t want to be sent off.
Steven McLean had a busy evening, but he should have been applauded for how he dealt with players intent on trying to get away with a physical approach that belongs in the ‘80s.
Instead, he has come under criticism.
In fairness, the criticism has come from individuals who probably don’t think the referee got anything wrong, more that the decisions went in Rangers favour.
Writing on X, Four Lads Had a Dream reckons that fear is the driving factor behind the nonsense:
“It was all fun and games when Michael Beale was in charge and we were a feeble laughing stock.
“Now we have someone and are getting results its meltdown city every time we get a win.
“Keep going Rangers, loving every second.”
Stevie Clifford, the man behind the blog, makes a good point.
There was nothing about refereeing conspiracies when Celtic were 8, 9 or 10 points clear at the top of the table, if anything, the focus was on how many penalties we had or hadn’t conceded, despite our noisy neighbours topping both charts – and they still do.
Stuart Lovell, a Hibs stalwart, had no problems with any of the decisions that McLean made when he was covering the game on BBC’s Sportscene.
He chose to analyse what really happened rather than try to create some sort of faux outrage.
We saw it when Rangers won 55 and Philippe Clement has rebuilt that aura about the club and belief in the squad.
Celtic fans – and the rest of Scottish football – are blaming injuries, making excuses or pointing the finger at officials when the reality is, as Clifford said, they just can’t handle us being good again.
Which only makes winning all the sweeter.
