Rangers will take on the esteemed FC Porto on Thursday evening, in a vital Europa League Group G clash at Ibrox.

Both sides go into the fixture on four points, with Rangers sitting one place above the Portuguese club in second, due to a superior goal difference.

Victory at Ibrox would likely leave the Gers a win away from qualifying for the knockout stages, a draw would leave things wide open and a defeat would make progression extremely difficult.

How will Rangers line up?

On the back of a strong showing in the League Cup semi-final against Hearts on Sunday, it’s unlikely that Steven Gerrard will ring the changes.

Allan McGregor appeared to come through unscathed following his return from a knock, while the defence looks settled at present, with the same back four starting four consecutive matches.

The midfield trio of Steven Davis, Ryan Jack and Glen Kamara excelled at Hampden, with Jack subbed in the second half to keep him fresh for this one.

Stevie G may consider drafting in Joe Aribo but is likely to stick with Kamara due to his defensive capabilities.

Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent – who was also subbed off against Hearts to in preparation for this game – are both nailed on starters.

The only question real question mark is over the attacking right position. Sheyi Ojo started there at the weekend and got himself into good positions but showed a lack of end product.

He scored the winner in the last home European tie, but with the dynamism of Kent on one side, there’s every chance Stevie G will pluck for the experience of Scott Arfield on the other.

The £2.25m-rated [Transfermarkt] Canada skipper hasn’t scored in 17 appearances and hasn’t managed to replicate his performance levels of last season, but one of his best outings of the campaign came in the win over Feyenoord.

He’s fresh after only a brief cameo against the Jambos and could be included for his work-rate as much as anything else, with Ojo offering pace from the bench.
