After last night’s debacle, this may be the last thing most Rangers supporters want to think about today.
Nonetheless, voting for the fan’s Player of the Year, is open.
No one in a Rangers shirt covered themselves in glory last night. Consequently, unless something miraculous happens, Steven Gerrard will end his first season without silverware.
That’s not to say there haven’t been stand out performers across the campaign, though.
The five nominees are James Tavernier, Allan McGregor, Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Ryan Jack.
Tavernier:
The skipper has made a massive 49 appearances at right-back. With 11 goals and 11 assists, he has been directly involved in more SPL goals than any other player.

McGregor:
After returning to the club in the summer, he’s found some of his very best form. Winner of Player of the Month for November, he was particularly excellent in the Europa League. Herculean displays in qualifying and at Ibrox against Villarreal, hauled the Gers to within a whisker of the knockout stages.
Morelos:
El Buffalo has 28 goals in all competitions for Rangers this season. He leads the SPL charts with 16 and has stepped up a level since last campaign. Discipline remains a problem, but without him, the Gers would be nowhere.

Kent:
The Liverpool loanee has really impressed, particularly since the turn of the year. He has bags of pace and trickery, but has found some final product in 2019.
Jack:
Scored the winner during the Old Firm at Ibrox. After recovering from injury, he has established himself as a firm favourite of Steven Gerrard’s. What’s more, he’s successfully cleaned up a poor disciplinary record and racked up 39 appearances.

You can vote on the club’s website and the winners will be announced at the gala dinner, later this month.
