Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has been named as the Star Man in the latest edition of the SPFL Team of the Week after shining against Hearts.
Morelos returned to the Rangers team on Sunday, after a fruitless trip to South America, to play just his second match of 2022.
He could have been forgiven if he was slightly off the pace after a long flight, especially given he has just 89 minutes of football under his belt since Boxing Day.
Instead, though, the 25-year-old delivered one of his most impressive all-round displays in a Rangers shirt.
He opened the scoring in the eleventh minute, sliding in at the back post to finish Ryan Kent’s teasing cross from the left.
Soon after the hour mark, he doubled the hosts’ advantage with a brilliant left-footed curling effort from the edge of the box after an initial attempted pass bounced back into his path.
He then notched an assist – his fifth of the season – playing Glen Kamara through on goal for Rangers’ third with a brilliant ball around the corner.
It was a dominant centre-forward display that earned him a perfect WhoScored.com match rating of 10.
And now, it’s been declared the best individual performance from any player across the four SPFL divisions at the weekend.

Craig Fowler, from A View From The Terrace, who selected the side, described the Gers talisman as ‘far too much for the away defence to handle’ [SPFL.co.uk].
The Colombian international is joined in the TOTW by his former Ibrox teammate, Jak Alnwick.
Alnwick has established himself as a consistent performer at St Mirren since being released by Rangers in the summer of 2020 and he impressed whilst keeping a clean sheet in a 1-0 win for the Buddies at Easter Road on Saturday.
