Leading Rangers fan media Heart & Hand have described claims that the club’s upcoming Champions League clash with Napoli could be reversed as “complete nonsense”.
The Daily Record had ran a story claiming that Rangers’ clash with the Serie A leaders could be played in Italy as discussions continue after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
This weekend’s footballing fixtures across the UK have been postponed in the wake of the Monarch’s death with the UK currently going through a week of mourning.
This has Rangers’ Ibrox clash with Napoli up in the air with the club releasing a statement explaining that the situation was ongoing.

“At this difficult time for the UK, we are cognisant of ongoing uncertainty regarding supporter arrangements and travel plans for next week,” reads the statement.
“We are aware of policing and resource pressures, especially on Tuesday, September 13. We can confirm that discussions are taking place between UEFA, Police Scotland and Rangers regarding our scheduled UEFA Champions League fixture versus Napoli.
“At present, the game is scheduled to take place at the scheduled date and time.”
The Record then claimed that “the tie could be switched to allow Rangers to go to Italy this week, with the return in Scotland moved back to late October”.
However, Heart & Hand have since rubbished this suggestion and claimed that it was never once on the table.
“This is complete nonsense and was never, ever an option,” claims the Rangers fan media outlet.
Rangers aren’t the only British team affected by the fixture situation following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, with police and other resources stretched in the wake of the Monarch’s death.
Premier League outfit and Group A rivals Liverpool are to host Ajax whilst Chelsea (RB Salzburg), Man City (Dortmund) and Arsenal (PSV Eindhoven) all have home European fixtures this week.
