As infighting dominated the Rangers news cycle, the Ibrox club earned a distraction from an unlikely source as rival fans railed against BBC Scotland.
The Gers fractured relationship with the broadcaster has been well-documented over the years as disputes from over a decade ago continue to plague both parties.
But despite the ongoing issues – which culminated in BBC Scotland boycotting Rangers coverage in solidarity with one of their journalists after their press rights were revoked – the broadcaster released a special 150th anniversary clip on its official channels.
In it, BBC Scotland look at Rangers’ undisputed 150 year history, charting the managers who have helped steer the club through a century and a half of sporting excellence.
Naturally, this sent rival fans from all over Scotland spiralling as they fumed over the notion Rangers were 150 this year, Sevcoing themselves into a deluded online rage.

Rangers’ rivals – of which there are plenty north of the border – believe that due to the club’s financial issues in 2012 that the Rangers we all know and love, and they all get their knickers in a twist about, no longer exist.
Yes, that’s the same Rangers that Celtic fans want the “old allocation” restored against, the same Rangers who no longer exist and whom they don’t care about whatsoever.
The quote tweets on the BBC Scotland clip are a joy to behold and highlight the neurotic obsession so many in the Scottish game have with Rangers.

The move also provided some much-needed respite for supporters online and acted as a distraction amid the ongoing fall-out between Rangers shareholders and the Ibrox Board.
Neither Club 1872 or Rangers covered themselves in glory by launching into a public spat regarding the running of the club which comes at an inopportune time amid Sydney Cup protests, fan discontent and a tough April run.
Ex-Rangers chairman Dave King appears to be right at the heart of the disagreement and has even offered to plug the £3m shortfall created by pulling out the Aussie Old Firm.
