Rangers are “not interested” in Coventry City’s Brazilian midfielder Gustavo Hamer after high-profile links to the player in the British press.
Sources at the Ibrox club have told leading fan media Heart & Hand that there is no interest in the player despite a transfer link cropping up in numerous places courtesy of the Press Association [BT].

The popular podcasters made the claim on their Daily Update [14/01/21] which is available to subscribers of their official Patreon account.
“I can tell you that this [the link to Hamer] isn’t true,” said Heart & Hand host David Edgar.
“Rangers are not interested in Gustavo Hamer, he is not a player who is currently on their radar.”

Hamer started his career in the Netherlands with Feyenoord and who moved to Coventry from PEC Zwolle in a £1.2m deal in the summer [Coventry Telegraph].
The report originally linking the player to Ibrox claimed Rangers were looking to Hamer with veteran Steven Davis having played a lot of football and Ryan Jack struggling with injuries.

Hamer, 23, also played at Ibrox in the summer as Rangers defeated Coventry 2-0 at Ibrox in July as part of a pre-season friendly.
The midfielder isn’t the only player being linked with Rangers this January but there is one name where the interest appears a little more concrete.
