One of the main reasons why Rangers have managed to not just claw themselves back into the title race but sit top of the Scottish Premiership is because of the form of Jack Butland.
The Gers number one has been outstanding since signing with manager Philippe Clement backing the stopper for an international recall to the England squad.
Not everyone believes that playing for Rangers is enough to earn that privelage with Jack Butland being told that he shouldn’t get his hopes up.

Rangers not good enough for Jack Butland England call-up
On only one or two occasions Butland might have done better but that is being incredibly harsh, he certainly hasn’t cost us any goals, put it that way and is a hugely important member of the squad.
The reason why he is in contention to get a phone call off Gareth Southgate is a simple one.
He is handling a lot of pressure playing for Rangers and the goals that Jack Butland is standing in front of are exactly the same size as the ones Jordan Pickford has to protect.
It’s not like Butland hasn’t proven that he can play at the required level in the past, all he has done is move to a club where he is playing every week.
Add that to injury to Nick Pope and Aaron Ramsdale not playing and it makes sense to call up a safe pair of hands – so to speak.
“Jack’s done ever so well, but sometimes when you’re over there and you look at the kind of competition you’re up against. No disrespect to the Scottish Premiership, if you’re playing in goal for Rangers or Celtic, you’re expected to have a number of clean sheets for sure,” dismissed Paul Ince on Talksport, before adding:
“That goes without saying. It’s great that he’s doing well, but as far as when it comes to European selection, I’m not too sure. It depends on Pope. All Jack has to do is keep doing what he’s been doing and hopefully, he gets the call.”
The obvious question is, who else is he going to pick?
James Trafford, who has the second worst goals against record in the league?
Southgate is a very conservative manager who doesn’t like to take risks.
Ramsdale has played one league game since September.
Who would you rather pick, a keeper who hasn’t played for most of the season or one who is in form, reliable and experienced?
If Jordan Henderson can get picked playing infront of one man and his dog in Saudi Arabia, Jack Butland should get picked playing for Rangers.
