After Alfredo Morelos’ summer tournament disappointment, it looks at least one Rangers player will be representing their country this summer.
Morelos wasn’t included in Colombia’s preliminary squad for this summer’s Copa America. No one will be more gutted about that than the Colombian himself.
But Nikola Katic has revealed he is set to be included in the Croatia squad at the U21 European Championships.

“Gerrard gave me a one more week of a rest because of the Euros,” Katic told Sportske. “As I left I got the work programme from the coach to work on during the summer. But right now the emphasis is on the holiday.
“We seem to have it tough and it’s a bit of a group of death. But our team is excellent and we showed in qualifying how strong we are. That’s why I am optimistic.”
The Croatia team face a real challenge in the U21 European Championships group stages in the shape of England, France and Romania.
It’ll be tough to follow on from the Balkan country’s World Cup success, where the senior team reached the tournament’s final in Russia.
Despite being 22, Katic can play because he played in the qualifiers as an U21.
The comments also confirm that the big defender will miss this weekend’s match with Kilmarnock. That should give Joe Worrall the chance for a final game in a Rangers shirt before returning to Nottingham Forest.
