Rangers signed USA international, Matt Polster, during the January transfer window.
It took a while to sort a work permit, but the deal was eventually completed on the eve of Transfer Deadline Day.

However, remarkably, the £540k-rated American, is still yet to make his Rangers debut.
Due to the schedule of the MLS season, he was never going to be able to slot into the team straight away.
After all, his last competitive appearance for former club, Chicago Fire, was back in October.

Even so, most would have expected to see him
carrying on a fine tradition in the famous jersey by now.
A minor groin injury hindered him briefly, but there’s a feeling Steven Gerrard has been holding him back.
Perhaps with so much pressure over results, that was an understandable ploy.
Yet, any hope of silverware during the manager’s first season has since disappeared.
Going forward, he’s got to start giving fringe players time and appraising exactly what he’s got to work with.

Gerrard knew Polster from his time in the MLS, but is that really enough to go on when planning for next season?

The 25-year-old relatively unknown quantity, needs to be exposed to the demands of the SPL, as soon as possible. That way the player, his manager and the fans can have an idea of what to expect going into next campaign.

The cauldron of the Old Firm on 31 March is clearly too big a fixture for a debut.
Following that though, April will present plenty of opportunities. A midweek clash with Hearts at Ibrox on the 3rd looks ideal.
Get him in the team and give him a proper chance to show everyone what he’s got.
