A Scottish football journalist has endorsed a potential Rangers move for Chelsea star Billy Gilmour as the Premier League midfielder struggles for minutes at Norwich.
The debate surrounding the Scotland international’s future continues to rage with Rangers – the club Billy came through the Academy with – never far from being mentioned alongside the player.

Believed to have a bright future at Stamford Bridge, Gilmour’s stint with Norwich hasn’t gone to plan with the player not seen in a Canaries’ shirt since mid-September.
But whilst plenty are talking regarding Gilmour’s future, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel insists no decision will be made before January as he encouraged the player to regain his place.
It’s left Gilmour’s future a bit open ended and until it is settled one way or another, we expect this won’t be the last time you’re hearing about it.
Now, writing for the Scottish Daily Mail, John Greechan has claimed that Rangers would be the ideal club for Gilmour to join in January because he’d get plenty of game time.
“It probably makes too much sense to happen. But Billy Gilmour needs matches,” writes Greechan [print edition, November 3, page 71].
“Rangers would give him all the game time he could ever want.
“From a Scotland standpoint, we should all hope that the Chelsea midfielder gets as much exposure to first-team football as possible from January onwards.
“It hardly matters for which first team.
“We’ll need him in form for that winter World Cup.”
Rangers were extensively linked with a move for Gilmour in the summer with the 20-year-old midfielder amongst the most hotly sought-after Premier League loan talents.

However, the player would wind up at Carrow Road but his temporary home may be elsewhere come the end of the winter transfer window.
There are plenty of Rangers fans out there who’d love for that to be at Ibrox.
Whilst links to Gilmour are one thing, what about those strange links this week to one Celtic player’s brother?
