Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara has backed Neil McCann to become the new Hearts manager, as quoted by the Daily Record.
The Finland international worked with the former Ger at Dundee and says he had a profound influence on his career.
McCann won three league titles in five years at Ibrox as a player, but also played close to 100 league games across two spells with the Jambos.
“Neil is a great manager and he helped me a lot, he kick-started my career and I still speak to him,” said Kamara, as quoted by the Daily Record.
“I actually gave him one of my Finland international strips just as a thank you, I felt I owed him for everything he did for me.
“It would be good to see him back in the game.”

Verdict
McCann is perhaps better known for his punditry than his management, considering the Dens Park job remains the only managerial post he has held since hanging up his boots in 2011.
Yet, highly-rated holding midfielder Kamara is clearly still relatively close to the ex-Ger and is suggesting not only that he’d be a good fit, but that he would want the hot seat at Tynecastle.
However, with more experienced coaches like Jack Ross also being mentioned in connection with the role [Scottish Herald], it seems unlikely to be a post that McCann will land.
