The Scottish Sun reports that Jordan Rossiter has been told to find a new club.
The 22-year-old midfielder is yet to report for pre-season training, raising a few eyebrows.

However, over the weekend, a Daily Record update claimed he had simply been granted extra time off by the manager. That looked surprising, but perhaps plausible considering his disastrous injury history.
Just a few days on and it looks doubtful that he’ll be heading to Portugal at all.

This will surely come as a disappointment to the former Liverpool youth skipper. Especially, as it finally looked as though he might be ready to kick on at Ibrox.
He spent the second half of last season on loan at Bury in EFL League Two. Although it may not have been at the highest of standards, Rossiter impressed for the Shakers. Making 16 league appearances, he put together more senior appearances than ever before and won multiple man of the match awards.

Yet, it seems that wasn’t quite enough to convince Steven Gerrard.

The manager has a wealth of options at his disposal in midfield right now, with Joe Aribo soon set to bolster resources even further [Daily Record]. Considering Rossiter has only made ten league appearances since joining in 2016 [Soccerbase], it’s probably a fair enough decision.
It will be interesting to see where the former England youth international ends up. He’s currently valued at £405k by Transfermarkt, so the Gers will hope to get a fee of some kind if and when he moves on.
