Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo started the season as one of the club’s top performers but following a mid-season injury has failed to live up to that early promise.
The 24-year-old Nigeria midfielder has bulked-up and looked like he was going to have a hugely influential role on the club’s season and charge for 55.
But whilst we perhaps haven’t seen as much of it in the last few months, in the last few weeks Rangers fans are convinced we’re seeing Joe Aribo getting back to his best.
The midfielder impressed in the 1-0 win over St. Johnstone, his movement in midfield making him difficult to track and his ability on the ball making him near-impossible to stop.
What impressed me also was Aribo’s tactical discipline in that midfield role, the midfielder backing up that creative talent with work-rate and a strong sense of positioning to fill in for the full-backs.
We saw the best of Aribo’s scintillating style in the 5-0 win over Ross County, the midfielder weaving past defenders before curling in a wonderful effort.
Aribo might not have been able to repeat the feat in the 1-0 win over St. Johnstone but the midfielder was arguably the side’s best player in the first half of proceedings.
Ianis Hagi would steal the day with a wonderful solo strike but Aribo also caught the eye of Rangers fans in the 1-0 victory at Ibrox:
