Jamie Barjonas dropped down to the Rangers B team on Tuesday night for a friendly fixture against Brechin City.
The 21-year-old midfielder signed a contract extension this time last year and has been a part of the first-team squad across the opening months of the 2020/21 season.

He featured in pre-season and scored a fine goal against Ligue 1 side Nice as the Gers went on to win the Veolia Trophy.
However, since competitive fixtures began, he has been consistently overlooked by Steven Gerrard.
The Rangers manager has a number of in-form internationals to choose from in midfield and as a result, Barjonas hasn’t managed to add to his nine senior appearances for the club.
Therefore, the Academy graduate – who has been an unused substitute on five occasions this season – took the opportunity to drop down to the B team on Tuesday night.
Movement between the squads isn’t usually permitted due to current safety protocol, but with many senior players heading away on international duty, a rare opportunity for game time presented itself.

Andy Firth, Leon King and Ciaran Dickson, who have all also been in the first-team bubble, joined Barjonas in the starting XI for the fixture against League Two side Brechin City at Auchenhowie.
They were upstaged by Northern Ireland youth international Chris McKee on the night, but all four players benefitted from a full 90 minutes of action in a relatively comfortable 3-1 win.
Barjonas’ current deal is set to expire in the summer, so at this point, his Rangers future is uncertain.
