Rangers midfielder Liam Burt has confirmed that he will leave the Light Blues this summer when his contract comes to an end – and thanked all the coaches and staff who have helped him throughout his time with the club.
The 20-year-old announced the news on Twitter this afternoon, shortly after the Gers’ reserve side secured the Reserve League title with a 3-1 win over Falkirk.

Burt never played any part in the match but has played his part this season as Graeme Murty’s side lifted the title, and admitted that he has made some “amazing memories” during his time at Ibrox.
“Sad to be leaving Rangers at the end of this season,” Burt said on his personal Twitter account.

Burt joined the Gers’ Academy from Celtic and made his first-team debut under Mark Warburton in 2016 but injuries have hindered his recent progress at Ibrox.

The midfielder was a stand-out in the club’s Academy sides and it looked like he could have been the next young talent to cement a first-team place but it never quite happened for him.
Burt has had loan spells with Dumbarton and Alloa Athletic over the last few seasons and likely won’t be a free agent for long when he does leave the Gers.
