Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield has brilliantly trolled fellow Ibrox star Jermain Defoe on Instagram.
Defoe, who has been in the professional game for over 20 years, turned 39 on Thursday.

The popular striker received plenty of happy birthday messages from friends and family as well as both current and former teammates.
He reshared dedicated Instagram stories from the likes of James Tavernier, Ianis Hagi, Alfredo Morelos, Calvin Bassey, Andy Firth, Cedric Itten, Bongani Zungu and Dapo Mebude.
Arfield’s humorous message was the standout, though.

He posted an image in which he’s celebrating a goal with Defoe and captioned it ‘Happy 50th to this man’, before tagging his teammate and adding love heart and birthday cake emojis.

Defoe reshared the story without any additions but the oldest outfield player at Rangers will surely have had a chuckle at the message.
Both Defoe and Arfield have had reduced roles at Ibrox this season, with the former making just one appearance to date and the latter turning out nine times, but only making three starts.
Their futures at the club beyond this season remain uncertain, as they are currently only tied down until the summer.
Defoe is perhaps likely to move from a dual player/coach role to a coaching-only position, but it’s unclear as yet whether Arfield will be offered an extension or be allowed to move on.
