Rangers have made an offer to bring Hibs striker Florian Kamberi to Ibrox on loan, according to the Edinburgh Evening News.
Any deal would also reportedly see Ibrox midfielder Greg Docherty return to Hibs after initially impressing during his short spell at Easter Road before the coronavirus shutdown.
However, the report also claims that Kamberi is looking for a permanent move away from Edinburgh and this would be his preferred option over any loan move.
According to the Daily Record, English Championship side Hull City are also interested in the striker and could make a permanent move.
The Edinburgh Evening News has also previously claimed that Hibs turned down two earlier offers from the KCOM Stadium regarding the Swiss/Albanian forward.
Kamberi is back at Hibs training but didn’t win many friends in Leith when he described moving to Rangers as a “dream move”.
“Ever since I came to Scotland it has been a dream for me to move to Rangers and it has happened today, so I am a very, very happy man,” said Kamberi [Rangers].
“For me, Ibrox is the best atmosphere I have ever played in.
“My second game for Hibs was against Rangers at Ibrox and after the game, I told my agent immediately my dream would be to play in this stadium in front of these fans as they are the best fans in the world – the support is massive.”
Perhaps Kamberi will be required to prove just how determined he is to make it at Ibrox by taking a loan move and winning himself a permanent contract.
Hibs boss Jack Ross has also opened the door to the player’s exit after a return to contact training.
“He’s trained with us from day one, and that’s probably it,” said Hibs boss Ross [Sky Sports].
“There’s continued dialogue to find a solution that suits both parties but at the moment, he’s training with the group.”
Kamberi scored one goal in nine appearances for Rangers after joining in January but impressed when given the opportunity at Ibrox.
