Rangers loanee named MOTM as he continues to impress in Scotland

Rangers loanee Kai Kennedy was named Man of the Match as adopted side Raith Rovers were held to a 0-0 draw with Ayr United.

The talented winger, 18, put an end to speculation on his future by signing a new deal at Ibrox in January before heading out on loan to the Rovers.

Kennedy had impressed on loan at Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the first half of the season but moved to Stark’s Park to be closer to home amid the pandemic.

The young winger – once linked to the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester City [Daily Record] has also improved on his numbers since moving across the Scottish Championship.

In the first half of the campaign Kennedy impressed but only managed one goal in eight games at the Tulloch Stadium.

At Raith, Kennedy has developed even further impressing with two assists on his debut and following that up with another two and a solitary strike in a combined eight games.

Rangers fans will be glad to know one of their brightest talents continues to make an impression in the Scottish second tier and will be hoping he can breakthrough into the first team proper next season.

Kennedy has made his top-team debut for Rangers – in the 2-0 Scottish Cup win over Stranraer in January last year – but now it’s about competing for a place in the side.
