Rangers loanee Niko Katić and his adopted side Hajduk Split defeated HNK Gorica 2-1 to reach the Croatian Cup final for the first time in four years.
Katić has been in fine form as of late as Hajduk is still in the running to challenge for the title, although a recent defeat has left them fourth in the table, just five points off the top spot.

A domestic cup medal would surely be a massive boost for the defender, who missed the whole of the Ibrox side’s fantastic unbeaten league season last year, and he could head back to Ibrox in high spirits.
Niko Katić and Hajduk Split reach Croatian Cup final as he aims to make up for Rangers disappointment
Despite the defender having a solid season, there is still some doubts about whether he will feature for Rangers next season. The club has signed John Souttar from Hearts on a pre-contract agreement and with Connor Goldson and Leon Balogun in the final few months of their respective deals, another centre back signing may be top of the list.
Katić hasn’t had the chance to show Giovanni van Bronckhorst what he can offer, and it could be interesting when he returns to the club for preseason.
Despite mixed reactions from the Gers faithful, his goal against Celtic to end our 9-year drought at Parkhead will live long in the memory and it was terrible luck that he got injured prior to the beginning of last season.
A loan move was the ideal chance for the Croatian to get some much-needed minutes and he has played a significant part in Hajduk’s season thus far, which can only please Gio and the backroom team.
This summer could see some massive changes to the Rangers backline and only time will tell whether the 25-year-old will be involved in some capacity.
In other news, former Rangers defender Nathan Patterson made his long-awaited debut for Everton in the FA Cup on Thursday evening.
