On Tuesday evening, Greg Docherty made his first start since recovering from a minor eye injury.
He completed the 90 minutes, as Shrewsbury Town ran out 2-0 winners over Doncaster Rovers.

As always seems to be the case, the 22-year-old was influential in the result.
It was his through ball, which set up Tyrese Campbell in the 35th minute.
When he finished with aplomb, the Shrews took a two goal lead and it stayed that way until the final whistle.
It was Docherty’s seventh assist in League One this season, to go alongside five goals.

There was special significance to this one though.
The blue nose now has more assists than any of Rangers’ first team midfielders.
He has just surpassed Scott Arfield’s tally of six.
What’s more, Docherty is ahead of all the first team wingers, too. Despite recent surges in form, both Daniel Candeias and Ryan Kent are some way behind.

Only James Tavernier, with ten, has directly created more goals than the loanee this season.
If that’s not an indication that he deserves a chance next campaign, what is?
He has proved he can make things happen in the centre of the park, and would surely be a huge asset for Steven Gerrard when his loan expires.
