Rangers loanee, Jamie Barjonas, has opened up on being reunited with former Ibrox teammate Zak Rudden after joining Partick Thistle on loan.

In joining the Maryhill-based club, he’s back alongside Zak Rudden, the 19-year-old striker who had left the Gers only a week previously in order to sign a permanent deal with Thistle.

Speaking at Firhill on Thursday afternoon, Barjonas gave a hilarious initial response when asked if he was excited to be teaming up with the former Ranger.

“Zak? I can’t get away from him!” he replied with a laugh. “Honestly, I’ve been best pals with that boy for eight or nine years now.”

“No, obviously I’m buzzing with it, I’m really close with Zak. I’ve known him for a long time, I know exactly how he plays – he’s a hard-working player who will score a lot of goals here.

“We bring the best out of each other, as I’m not afraid to talk to him if he’s having a bad game. We bounce off each other that way and I’m sure he’s the exact same.

“We’re so close that we can talk to each other like that and we’re not going to have bad blood between us.

“I’m just really excited to get going with him as well.”
