Rangers loanee Jake Hastie was absent from Partick Thistle’s matchday squad on Saturday amid talk that he’ll return to Ibrox this month.
Hastie headed out of Ibrox on loan in August for the third time in as many seasons, joining the Jags ‘initially until January’.
The wording of the announcement suggested that there was scope for the deal to be extended but the 22-year-old hasn’t managed to impress at Firhill.
He’s made just six appearances, all of which have come from the bench.
While the latest of his outings came against Inverness Caley Thistle back at the end of October, he’s still been a regular in the matchday squad since then.
Rangers loanee absent amid return talk
However, a day after the Glasgow Times asserted it was likely that Hastie would to be sent back to Ibrox at some stage this month, he missed out on the squad for the Jags’ trip to Hamilton in the Championship, suggesting he has either already returned to or is about to go back to Rangers.

The 22-year-old winger is under contract at Ibrox until the end of next season, but he’s unlikely to add to his two first-team appearances and the Gers may look to offload him permanently this month.
Another Rangers loanee, Lewis Mayo, played the full 90 minutes for Thistle against Accies.
The 21-year-old has been excellent at the back for Ian McCall so far this season, but he gave away a penalty as Thistle were held to a 2-2 draw despite being ahead twice.
Meanwhile, a former Rangers star is set to return to the SPFL imminently.
