Rangers linked Winger Crysencio Summerville [DailyRecord] appeared for Leeds Utd in their FA Cup defeat to West Ham Utd on Sunday in what was a brief cameo for the player amid recent interest from the Ibrox side.
Leeds lost the match 2-0 and ends their hopes of FA Cup glory and continues their poor run of form in the current campaign as they sit 16th in the Premier League table.
Summerville made a 12-minute cameo for the side and couldn’t influence Leeds to a comeback as West Ham saw the match out with ease and sent the London-based side into the next round.
With Rangers showing interest in the Dutch winger recently, this brief appearance may be a blow to our hopes of signing the player.
The 20-year-old has only made five Premier League appearances this season, his opportunities mainly coming at the U23 level.
He recently scored a superb 26-minute hat-trick for the Leeds Utd U23s, coming only days after he was linked with a loan move to the Ibrox side according to The Daily Mail.
Crysencio Summerville could improve Rangers wide options
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has already made his first signing of his tenure as James Sands has joined the club, although other signings have been mooted.
Summerville could certainly give the Ibrox side more options out wide, although a lack of experience could be the main concern regarding the move.
With Leeds struggling at the moment, Marcelo Biesla might just keep hold of the winger until the end of the season and see if he can translate his recent U23 success to the first team.
