Rangers linked Feyenoord teenager Crysencio Summerville has no ambitions to leave Feyenoord this summer as he opens up on contract talks with the De Kuip club.
The 18-year-old Dutch winger spent last season on loan with Ado den Haag and impressed with the Eredivisie side despite this being his breakthrough season.
With Summerville’s contract set to expire in the summer of 2021 this has reportedly had a host of clubs interested including Rangers, Anderlecht, Red Bull Salzburg and Wolves [Voetbal International].
That report claimed there was “concrete interest” from “several foreign clubs” but Summerville discussed his own intentions in a revealing interview with Voetbal Primeur.
“We are looking at what is best for me, but we are not quite sure yet. The conversations are going well,” said Summerville.
“We’re not after money. It’s just about what’s best for me.
“I don’t know why that is going around, because money is the last problem. I think it is quite funny when I read such things.
“I really want to see a plan and I want them to trust me. It’s not just about now or next year, but I look beyond that.
“My intention is for us to get out. When I came in here as a little boy I wanted to get across. Play in De Kuip, become one of the important players and look further from there.”
These comments would suggest the talented teen is keen to stay in Holland with Feyenoord and develop his trade with Rangers’ Europa League rivals from last season.
But they also appear to suggest he wants assurances about his next steps should another party become interested in the years to come.
That’s not to say Summerville isn’t flattered by the interest being shown to him already.
The youngster described Rangers, Anderlecht and Salzburg as “beautiful clubs” but insists for now he is focused on Feyenoord.
“They are beautiful clubs, anyway. But that is a new step,” said Summerville.
“I am not thinking about that at all. My thoughts are completely focused on Feyenoord. The other step will come later.”
Cysencio Summerville made 22 appearances for Ado den Haag last season, scoring twice and assisting a further three goals.
The Dutch U19s international has yet to feature for the Feyenoord first team.
