Kevin Nisbet, the Championship striker Rangers are reportedly scouting [Glasgow Evening Times], netted a brace for Dunfermline on Saturday afternoon.

The 22-year-old has been in blistering form in recent times, scoring four in the mauling of his former club Partick Thistle last weekend, before grabbing the only goal in a 1-0 win at Ayr United in midweek.

It didn’t take him long to get back into it in this most recent outing against Greenock Morton, either.

With just 21 minutes on the clock, he confidently dispatched a penalty into the bottom left corner following a handball from opposition midfielder Chris Millar.

Greg Kiltie doubled the Pars’ advantage shortly after the break before Reece Lyon grabbed one back for visitors. Nisbet popped up again in the 84th minute, though, with his sharp finish securing his side’s third straight league victory.

It seems that rather than wilting under the pressure of the reported Rangers transfer interest, it’s inspiring the striker to reach new levels.

Remarkably, the Championship’s Player of the Month for November has now scored eleven times in his last seven outings and has an overall tally of 18 for the season.

If he can keep up this form between now and January, it may well convince the powers that be at Ibrox to swoop.

Earlier this week, Dunfermline boss Stevie Crawford suggested the Pars wouldn’t get the player’s way if the Rangers came calling.
