Routinely Rangers-linked Aberdeen midfielder Lewis Ferguson has followed in the footsteps of his father and uncle this season by helping to pile the agony on top of Celtic.
The son and nephew of ex-Gers midfielders Derek and Barry, Ferguson netted a deadly double during a 3-3 Pittodrie draw with the hapless Parkhead side earlier in the season.
And Ferguson would pop up again to help down the Parkhead side with the opening goal in a 1-1 draw with Celtic in Scotland’s northeast.
The midfielder – who responded to links to the Gers by saying he doesn’t “read too much” into them – turned in an Andy Considine header at the back post to put the Dons in front.
Ferguson was also lucky not to add to his tally with two efforts in the first half and a gilt-edged chance in the second.
However Celtic would equalise late on in the match but it wasn’t without refereeing controversy as two Celtic stars avoided reds.
Callum McGregor avoided action after chasing down Johnny Hayes late in the match with the ex-Parkhead winger through on goal.
And somehow Celtic midfielder David Turnbull only received a yellow for full-blown booting Aberdeen midfielder Dylan McGeough.
Leigh Griffiths headed a late equaliser but it wasn’t enough to spare the blushes of the Parkhead club as Rangers-linked Ferguson helped to pile on the agony at Parkhead.
Rangers’ draw with St Johnstone meant the Gers failed to extend their 20-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership with our 1-1 draw not without refereeing controversy of its own.
