Rangers are on the look-out for a new manager, one with a track record of success and who can handle the pressure of life in Glasgow.

With spells at Ajax, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Lyon and now PSV Eindhoven, there are few managers currently operating in Europe who have seen as much as Peter Bosz, who was once linked with the Ibrox hotseat

What he won’t have enjoyed as a new experience, is a 7-1 hammering at the hands of Arsenal in a harsh Champions League lesson.

Peter Bosz fighting for PSV Eindhoven job as Rangers look for manager

Bosz has been considered as an option for Rangers manager before and could well be out of a job in the summer with PSV currently eight points behind Ajax in the Eredivisie.

The short-term nature of football makes PSV’s title win of last season a long since forgotten memory.

Bosz likes his teams to play attractive, attacking football, as Rangers found out in the Champions League qualifiers last season, but Arsenal were just too much.

A big miss at 0-0 and Myles Lewis-Skelly dodging a second yellow card for Arsenal at 2-0 were key moments though as the Gunners ran riot.

After seeing off Juventus in the play-off round, a sobering defeat at home against a team that has been struggling to score goals would not have been on the cards.

What has Bosz said about his future and could Rangers revive interest?

Bosz was asked post-match about his future with the Dutch giants, but Bosz is taking things one game at a time:

“The return in London next week will be difficult, but we are still second in the Eredivisie and we want to keep it that way. I will remain combative, of course.

“We are going to do this together. We got into this situation with these players and we will get out of it with the same players. I have to have the confidence of the club management, but that will work out.”

“I am not afraid for my job,” Bosz said of PSV’s next league game against Heerenveen.

He might not be afraid, but if PSV lose, he could well join Philippe Clement in looking for a new job.

With Rangers considering their options, a new name could be added to the list.
