Rangers have previously been linked with a move Alexander Blessin and amid mounting pressure on Giovanni van Bronckhorst the German coach could be set to leave Serie B Genoa.
The Dutch coach has overseen yet another domestic collapse at Ibrox with the Gers nine points behind in the Scottish Premiership title race and needing a miracle to turn things around.

Couple this with a drastically poor performance in the Champions League and the knives are out for Van Bronckhorst who has already plenty of detractors within the support.
But as fans cast glances elsewhere, the Daily Record claimed last season that Alexander Blessin was amongst a shortlist of Rangers targets before they moved GVB.
Rangers-linked Alexander Blessin could leave Genoa
Bodo/Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen was another who was mentioned in the report – but he has since ruled himself out of the running – with now Genoa boss Alexander Blessin suggested during his time with KV Oostende.
German coach Blessin has been in charge of Genoa since January after leaving Belgian side KV Oostende to join the Italians, but the report also claims the Gers are unlikely to go for someone without experience in the British game.
Now, reports in Italy [Alfredo Pedulla] are suggesting Genoa are unhappy with how their season is progressing despite the face Alexander Blessin has them in 3rd.
This, some are suggesting, may present an opportunity for Rangers to sign a manager they were linked to before they plumped for Van Bronckhorst.
However, Rangers fans who want Giovanni van Bronckhorst to leave the club may be bitterly disappointed after the latest comments of Dutch journalist Marcel van der Krann.
Krann – who broke news of Rangers talks with Gio – claims the Ibrox board are set to stick by their man amid a series of injuries at the club [Sky Sports].
Whilst Alexander Blessin remains at Genoa, one manager who has confirmed an exit from his current club might be interested in Rangers in the future.
