At 6ft 4″, Klinsmann has a big physical presence. He also has considerable youth international experience with the USA.
It was claimed that he was being considered as a potential backup for Allan McGregor, with the futures of Wes Foderingham and the returning Jak Alnwick uncertain.

Last month, Gers representatives reportedly watched the 22-year-old in action for Hertha Berlin II against Locomotiv Leipzig. However, it appears the club either ended their interest or failed to move quickly enough.
“After two years of training with Hertha BSC, which have helped me a lot, my goals are clearly defined,” Klinsmann told his new club’s official website. “I want to help FC St. Gallen to reach the Euro League and I want to be the first goalkeeper as fast as possible.”
“Of course, I also want to qualify for the Olympic Games in Tokyo with the US Olympic selection. I’m proud to have signed a two-year contract with a traditional club and will do everything I can to get involved with the club.”

Interestingly, despite not moving to Glasgow, he could still come up against Celtic next month.
St Gallen take on Rangers’ fiercest rivals in a pre-season friendly on 2 July. Therefore, while he won’t be heading to Ibrox, he may get a brief chance to thwart Neil Lennon and co as they gear up for the new SPL campaign.
