Rangers-linked Bosnian goalkeeper Asmir Begovic is reportedly interesting Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia for a potential link-up with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Portuguese superstar Ronaldo, 37, has signed on with the Middle Eastern club for two-and-a-half seasons after leaving Man United in the Premier League and it’s quite a contrast to that record-breaking £80m move to Real Madrid in 2009.

Reports are claiming that the Saudi Arabian side have failed in their bid to sign a second player from the Premier League with reports claiming they’ve had a bid rejected for Asmir Begovic.
The former Portsmouth, Stoke and Chelsea goalkeeper is currently the back-up option behind Jordan Pickford at Everton and out of contract come the end of the season.
Al-Nassr chase Rangers-linked Asmir Begovic
According to Sky Sports journalist Mark McAdam, Everton have rejected an approach from Al-Nassr to make Amir Begovic their player.
But that is not expected to deter the Saudis, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s new club expected to return with a second offer in the coming days.
The report comes after Rangers were linked with a move for Asmir Begovic earlier in the transfer window.
There has been much debate surrounding the goalkeeper position at Rangers and according to TalkSPORT journalist Alex Crook – speaking back in December – Asmir Begovic is a summer target for the club.
This comes with Rangers veteran Allan McGregor out of contract come the end of the season and doubts surrounding both Jon McLaughlin and Robby McCrorie.
Rangers manager Michael Beale has also admitted that unless he can settle on a permanent number one next season, then the club will need to re-enter the market.
”I think it’s clear that at the end of the season we need to either bring a goalie in or make sure that we’ve made a decision on Jon or Robby to be number one,” said Beale [Rangers].
”I have to give all the players in-house an opportunity because I am going to change players in this squad over time, I am going to change the look of Rangers to move forward.”
Whilst the Asmir Begovic links have gone cold, here’s the latest on Nicolas Raskin.
