Rangers legend Ally McCoist has sent a heart-warming message to ex-Ibrox teammate Scott Nisbet after the former defender revealed he has cancer.
McCoist posted the message of solidarity with 52-year-old Nisbet on Instagram after the former Scotland U21 cap revealed he needed life-saving surgery.
McCoist describes Nisbet as “an integral part of the squad and great friend to us all” and he posted a special photograph of the two together in Rangers strips.
Super Ally also invited supporters to donate to Scott’s fundraiser as he prepares to undergo the potentially life-saving operation.

The Rangers support was rocked by the news that Nisbet had developed cancerous tumours with the biggest and most painful in his kidney.
Lanzarote-based Nisbet was due to see a specialist in Gran Canaria this week with a view to the surgery.
“I am in a race against time,” Nisbet told the Scottish Sun.
“I have four tumours.
“The main one is on my kidney and it has to be taken out ASAP.
“The tumour on my kidney is about eight centimetres by six.
“If they can get that out within a week to ten days they will then look to tackle the remaining three tumours.
“I am going to Gran Canaria on Wednesday to see the specialist and hopefully the operation will follow soon after.
“The priority is to remove the kidney. So that’s why I say it’s a race against time.”
Scott Nisbet came through the youth ranks at Rangers and spent eight years in the first team at the club between 1985 and 1993.
Most famously remembered for a freak goal against Brugges in March 1993, Nisbet made 90 league appearances for Rangers, scoring six goals.
