Derek Johnstone has called for change at the SFA, in the Evening Times.
The legendary figure played over 300 league matches and scored 130 goals for the Gers between 1970 and 1983, and now has a regular column with said paper.

He, like everyone else, is perplexed by recent decision making.
‘Anyone who looks at the events of the last week or so and the Scottish FA disciplinary outcomes would just laugh at us’, said Johnstone in the Evening Times.
The former Scotland international is in part, referring to decisions to ban Alfredo Morelos and Allan McGregor.

Yet, it’s not those calls that are the main issue.
Johnstone calls for transparency
It’s the lack of punishment for others.
He lists Kilmarnock’s Alan Power, St Mirren’s Paul McGinn and both Scott Brown and Jozo Simunovic of Celtic, as players who have wrongly escaped punishment over the last week or so.
Therefore, he calls for change.

“The SFA have to explain why these decisions are being made. That is only fair and only right so that everyone knows what’s going on here.”
“I don’t want to know the name of the people on the panels. Keep that confidential.”
There is no problem with these panels remaining anonymous, but there should be more detail on the process. We can’t be kept in the dark.”
There are plenty of like-minded Rangers fans out there. That much is proven by a petition for the resignation of SFA Compliance Officer, Clare Whyte.
Surely if this level of protest from fans and pundits keeps up, the body will have to act.
