Rangers legend Ally McCoist has been nominated for Pundit of the Year at the upcoming Football Supporters’ Association Awards.
The popular co-commentator has enjoyed a renaissance in recent years and this would be an apt award for one of the country’s leading sports figures.
The Ibrox legend will be going up against a host of famous names in the awards but there’s little doubt our own Super Ally will be amongst the frontrunners.
Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer – who is a on the Match of the Day panel – is also nominated, whilst Sky Sports pair Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher make up a Man Utd and Liverpool contingent respectively.
Popular Football Focus host and former Arsenal and England women’s star Alex Scott is also nominated whilst the fifth and final nominee is Old Trafford legend Rio Ferdinand.
Fans are being invited to vote on a host of FSA Awards as part of the show with 84 nominees battling it out across 14 categories.
These range from Player of Year awards, Fanzine Awards, Newspaper of the Year awards and even Writer of the Year awards.

Rangers ambassador Ally McCoist worthy Pundit of the Year Award nominee
Rangers legend Ally McCoist is a superb ambassador for the club with his bubbly personality, passionate commentary and insightful analysis also making him a popular pundit.
The Ibrox club’s greatest ever goalscorer, McCoist, 59, is a bonafide Rangers legend and hit 355 goals for the club in 581 games, winning 21 major honours as a player.
Not only that, but Ally enjoyed a glorious period as Walter Smith’s assistant when the club won three in a row before helping the Gers through the most tumultuous time in their history as manager.
Describing his time as Gers boss as the perfect job at the wrong time, McCoist might not have achieved everything he wanted during a difficult time as gaffer, but his sacrifice and contribution was immense.

Fans might not always agree with the Ibrox legend but you’ll be hard-pressed to find any who don’t – quite simply – adore McCoist for everything he’s done for Rangers.
Let’s do something for him by signing up and voting for the Ibrox legend and giving him a helping hand in receiving the recognition he deserves.
If you haven’t seen it yet, here’s Super Ally paying tribute to former manager, former colleague and close friend Walter Smith following his passing.
