There are now less than three months until Rangers face Manchester United on Europa League duty.
The Light Blues don’t really know what version of the Red Devils they face after they sacked Erik ten Hag and it remains unclear who they will get in as their new manager.
The Battle of Britain clash isn’t too far on the horizon but it is long enough for United to get a new man in and get their act together after slumping to 14th in the Premier League following defeat to West Ham.
Rangers will also hope to have improved performances and results by then to ensure there is a title race on the cards during the latter part of the campaign.

Rangers and Manchester United comparison
Months ahead of the Old Trafford meeting between the two sides, they have actually been compared with one another.
Before the Dutchman’s sacking, many of the concerns of supporters were around the style of play and a lack of identity.
Pundit Tam McManus feels it’s a similar story at Ibrox just now and while Gers are winning most of their games, the performances are worrying long term for him.
McManus told PLZ Soccer: “Rangers are just hanging in at the minute. They’re just winning games, I don’t think they’re playing particularly well.
“I think if you look at chances created St Mirren were worthy of a point. Cerny is coming into a game. He had a bad patch where he missed two or three sitters but he’s bounced back. He cuts in on that left foot and looks dangerous.
“I’m still not convinced by Rangers, I don’t think they’ve got an identity. They’ve got decent players in different areas, but there is no clear…are they sitting off or are they high press? There is no clear identity.”
Could Philippe Clement face same fate as Erik ten Hag?
As we know, ten Hag has now paid the price for Man United’s poor form with his job after yesterday’s sacking.
There is talk over whether Clement could face the same fate if things don’t pick up and McManus says it’s a definite possibility.
“Oh, I think he is,” he said when asked if the Belgian is walking a tightrope. “I think they’re one or two bad results away from people full-scale wanting his head. They’ve just got to win just now.
“A couple of mates were at the game and they’re thinking ‘okay, we won but we’re still miles off where we need to be.’
“They’ve got a massive game on Wednesday. I think it will suit Rangers because Aberdeen will attack them, like a European game where they can sit in and counter attack.
“But I still think they’re miles off it. If you look at the way Celtic play and the way they play, I think they’re miles off it.”
