Rangers captain James Tavernier has been the subject of reported Newcastle United transfer interest on the four-year anniversary of the wing-back signing on at Ibrox.
The former Toon full-back is said to be Steve Bruce’s number one target after he took over at Newcastle.
But after a defiant Instagram post celebrating the important milestone, you get the impression our captain fantastic has no plans to go anywhere.

The Rangers full-back might’ve just said “four years ago today” accompanied by the obligatory blue love heart and union flag, but the photos tell a story themselves.
Looking back over four years at the Ibrox club, it’s a time that James Tavernier clearly cherishes.
It’s a time over which Rangers fans have seen the man who was signed from lowly Wigan develop into a top player and a top athlete.
The fact Steven Gerrard made Tav his captain shows just how much he appreciates what the wing-back brings to the team.
Tav has never once suggested he’d rather be anywhere else and going by his photos, it’s clear to see how close he holds Rangers to his heart.
He’s been here since the club cleared out the old guard and started afresh.

Tav was one of the first signings when Rangers went back to the drawing board under Mark Warburton.
You get the impression he wants to be here when the new guard lifts the title and put Rangers back where they belong.
The fans certainly hope so.
