Rangers invite supporters to take part in LGBT+ MardiGla event

Rangers are inviting supporters to take part in this year’s MardiGla event after the club and charity foundation teamed up with LGBT+ Rangers fans group Ibrox Pride.
The MardiGla pride match will be held on Saturday 20th July where it will begin in Kelvingrove Park before marching through the city into George Square.
Ibrox Pride is described as the club’s Official LGBT+ Supporters Club and supporters are being encouraged to join them on the march.

Rangers Charity Foundation Director, Connal Cochrane, told the club’s official website:
“We’re looking forward to standing side by side with the Club and Ibrox Pride, to show our support for the LGBT+ community and beyond.
“The Club and Foundation are proud to be inclusive for everyone and we hope that the Rangers family will join us to celebrate this, at what will be a special afternoon in Glasgow.
Likewise, Ibrox Pride Co-Chair, Carole Anderson told Rangers.co.uk:
“Ibrox Pride is delighted to be joining the Club and Charity Foundation at MardiGla and we invite all LGBT+ Rangers fans, their families and friends to join us on the march and show support for inclusive football.”
The Ibrox Pride group will display a special inclusive banner and t-shirts at the event, which begin at approximately 12:15 pm on the 20th July at Kelvingrove Park.
Anyone who’s interested in taking park is being requested to meet at 11:45 am.
If you would like to take part with Rangers, the club is encouraging people to email their name and t-shirt size to [email protected] before Thursday 11th July.

It’s not the first time Rangers have shown their support for the LGBT+ community either.
Rangers wore rainbow laces in a match against Aberdeen last season to show their support for LGBT groups in football.
