The latest Rangers injury news ahead of the trip to Motherwell on Christmas Eve as boss Philippe Clement delivers further bad news.

Christmas is fast approaching and families across the country are ready to settle down with loved ones for the festive period. But for Rangers, league business is set to ramp right up.

After winning against St Johnstone on Wednesday, Gers now face Motherwell. It will be a whopping four games in 10 days for Clement and his charges, where the landscape of the title race could change dramatically in a short space of time.

Unfortunately, Rangers will be heading into these fixtures with a further reduced squad which is nothing unusual for Clement nowadays. He’s been faced with injury hardship from the moment he walked through the Ibrox front doors, but still managed to deliver a trophy and Europa League football after Christmas.

He’ll just be getting on with the squad available but there’s no doubt his frustration over the club’s current crocked list will be teetering on the edge of boiling over. Here is the latest Rangers injury news.

John Lundstram has been pretty much an ever-present since Philippe Clement arrived at Rangers. But that run was brought to a cruel end on Wednesday evening.

Clement was pleased with the victory over St Johnstone but was left fuming during his post-match press conference due to a nasty challenge on Lundstram.

Diallang Jaiyesimi was initially booked for the horrific tackle that saw his studs make forcible contact with Lunny’s ankle. But a VAR review upgraded it quite rightly to a red card.

Lundstram had to go off at half-time as a result and it appears we won’t see our star midfielder back in action for a while – a seriously big blow for our midfield department.

Clement told the press on Friday before the Motherwell trip that he won’t be available for the next game, but saying that the club are waiting on scan results to realise the extent of the damage done and how long the 29-year-old will be out for.

Expected return: Unknown date

In, out. In, out. Back in, back out. That’s sadly the story of Kemar Roofe at Rangers.

The luckless striker simply cannot stay fit and after a run of five games in December, the 30-year-old will be spending Christmas on the crocked list.

He cut a dejected figure against St Johnstone after being forced off with just 16 minutes gone at Ibrox. Again though, we’re not sure how long Roofe will be sidelined for.

Clement simply stated that it’s just a case of waiting for Roofe’s scan result before making anything public about how bad the injury is. He also added: “It is most disappointing for Kemar (Roofe) as he is doing everything possible to avoid injuries. We are looking closely into the details to find solutions for him.”

Expected return: Unknown date
