The 18-year-old striker netted the opening goal in Rangers’ 3-1 win over the Doonhammers and is widely regarded as amongst the brightest talents in the club’s youth set-up.
Now, according to Football Insider, things are on the verge of getting even better for Robbie Ure as the Ibrox side close in on a new deal for the youngster.
The report claims Ure’s representatives met with Rangers last week and that talks are “progressing well”, so much so a deal is set to be “finalised soon”.
Rangers reportedly close in on Robbie Ure deal
Having already netted two goals and laid on three assists for the Rangers B Team in the Lowland League, the news of a prospective new deal comes with Robbie Ure’s current contract set to expire at the end of this season.
Remarkably, despite being amongst the brightest youth talents at Rangers, the Ibrox youngster hasn’t been capped at any level for the Scotland national team, but he has recently been called up to the Scotland U19S.
Family links also means the striker qualifies for Ukraine internationally.
Robbie Ure also spoke to RangersTV after opening his account for the Gers against Queen of the South with the youngster delighted at getting off the mark for the club.
“It’s a thing I’ve dreamt of doing ever since I remember to obviously get my debut at Ibrox and then to add it with a goal ten minutes in,” said Robbie Ure.
“It’s a dream come true. It’s just really special, I was just excited. It’s just everything I’ve wanted to do so doing it for the first time, it was great.
“Obviously Glen’s set the ball off to me and I’ve just tried to hit it on target and I think it’s taken a wee deflection but yeah they all count and it was a great moment for me.”
As one young Rangers talent in Robbie Ure impresses at Ibrox, another who has also already netted for the club has been making headlines out on loan.
