Polish outfit Lech Poznan have presented Rangers with a special commemorative gift as they celebrate their centenary year.

The Gers have received a special commemorative train model alongside every side the Polish club have faced on the European stage to celebrate the club turning 100.

Lech Poznan are a club with traditional ties to the railways and Rangers claim they are “humbled” by the move as they celebrated the gift of “friendship and togetherness”.

“Rangers were humbled to receive this gift of friendship and togetherness from Lech Poznan as they celebrate their centenary,” reads a Rangers tweet.

“A club with strong ties to the railway, every club whom they have played in European competition has been presented with one of these carriages.”

Lech Poznan would then respond in kind by wishing Rangers all the best in their challenges in the Europa League and Scottish Premiership this season.

Rangers sent special gift by former Euro rivals Lech Poznan

The Gers faced Lech in the Europa League group stage last season, joining the Polish side in a group with Portuguese club Benfica and Belgian side Standard Liege.

The Ibrox side would come out on top on both occasions with Alfredo Morelos – who else – scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win at Ibrox.

A much-changed Rangers side would then win the reverse 2-0 with Lech Poznan succumbing to goals from Cedric Itten and Ianis Hagi.

Rangers would eventually go the group campaign unbeaten before defeating Royal Antwerp in the round of 32 and going out to Slavia Prague in the last 16.

It’s a nice touch from Lech and Rangers will be wishing the Polish club all the best in their endeavours this season.

Meanwhile, Rangers are set to face a Braga star “destined for the top” when they face off in a Europa League quarter final.
