Peter Lovenkrands might be famous at Rangers for his Old Firm goals and lifting trophies above his head.
But the former Danish winger has found worldwide fame through a sensational meme which continues to break the internet.
Back in 2018, Peter Lovenkrands shared an Instagram link on Twitter wishing his golden labrador a happy 12th birthday, describing the dog as his ‘beautiful boy’.
But one Rangers fan failed to click the link and responded ‘hopefully grows up to score goals against Celtic, just like his old man’.
A photoshopped image of the dog’s head in a Rangers jersey then went viral alongside the comment and an internet legend was born.
Peter Lovenkrands on legendary dog meme
Peter Lovenkrands has been asked by Gordon Duncan on the Warm Up about achieving ‘world wide’ fame with the meme.
The hilarious exchange has even got so famous that Peter Lovenkrands’ dog has become a popular Halloween costume every year.
Lovenkrands admits that he cannot believe the reaction the interaction got, with his poor old puppy passing away five years ago.
”It went mental again,” said Lovenkrands about the meme.
”It comes it waves, especially Halloween, Christmas, when they all start dressing up.
”I’ve seen people walk through airports like that, with the head on, right.
”I get sent them all the time so that people send it to me on social media and my kids now at school, every time they go to school.
”People talking like I’m going to dress up as this next and I’m like, my dog died five years ago, six years go.”
Rangers legend’s dog has ‘been sold’ to Newcastle
It’s not just in Scottish football where Peter Lovenkrands’ dog is a cult legend either.
The former Danish international also spent time with Newcastle United and claims the costume showed up at St James’ Park!
Claiming that the dog has ‘been sold’ to the Premier League giants, the internet continues to throw up new imaginations of the legendary exchange.

”He’s actually been sold,” said Lovenkrands. “I went down to the Newcastle game against Wolves.
”Somebody’s done it with a Newcastle strip on. It’s actually a wee kid standing with a dog head on and a Newcastle kit.
”I mean, he’s been sold.”
