Rangers have "won the race" for Oldham's George Edmundson - report

Rangers have “won the race” to sign highly-rated Oldham Athletic defender George Edmundson, according to journalist Mike Keegan.
The Ibrox club has reportedly agreed to pay Oldham £650k for the services of the centre-back.
Should the deal go through, Rangers will have beaten off competition from Portsmouth [Daily Record] and Peterborough for the player.

Edmundson is a 21-year old who has already played 75 first-team matches in his career. A total of 63 of those have come for League Two Oldham.
The highly-rated centre back is obviously highly fancied by Rangers who’ve been tailing him all summer.
Keegan also had a thing or two to say about Edmundson’s ability.

Ranger’s pursuit of the player was threatening to turn into a bit of a transfer saga.
But after the club had two bids reportedly turned for the player, Rangers now seem to have got their man.
Should Rangers manage to get Edmundson to sign in the coming days, it would signal a very good week for the club indeed.
New signings Jordan Jones, Jake Hastie and Greg Stewart joined up with their new teammates, whilst the club also announced the signing of Liverpool youngster Sheyi Ojo.

Charlton midfielder Joe Aribo is also expected to sign for Rangers in the coming days [Evening Standard].

Let’s hope we win the race to sign another talented English youngster in the near future too!
