Rangers manager Michael Beale claims the club does have a back-up plan for the clash with Celtic as he provided a post-Motherwell update on a potential Alfredo Morelos injury.
The Colombian striker has been off-colour all season long but has begun to show shoots of recovery after the first half of the player’s season was interrupted by attitude and fitness issues.
Opening the scoring in the eventual 3-0 victory over Motherwell, Alfredo Morelos might’ve had a double after having a backheel cleared off the line and teeing up Malik Tillman’s strike before going off with injury.

Speaking after the game, Michael Beale suggested that the substitution was precautionary with Alfie going down due to a tight hamstring.
But if Rangers are to be without their once talismanic striker for the visit of Celtic then Michael Beale pointed out that Kemar Roofe and Antonio Colak – who weren’t involved against Motherwell – are waiting in the wings.
“I believe it’s just a tight hamstring [Alfredo Morelos injury] so hopefully that’s the case,” Michael Beale told RangersTV.
“Antonio and Kemar are back in training but didn’t want to take a risk on them tonight to give them four or five more days in the legs in terms of physical work.
“So let’s hope Alfredo is OK but we do have those two waiting in the wings as well.”

Since coming into the club the Rangers boss has navigated some serious injuries and a tough schedule to maintain an admittedly ominous nine point gap with Celtic.
The true test of the club’s progress will come against their Old Firm rivals at Ibrox and Rangers are clearly well stocked up top even with any injury to Alfredo Morelos.
