Rangers have been handed a major boost ahead of the club’s Europa League clash with Porto after Moussa Marega didn’t travel with the Portuguese club.
Porto themselves have confirmed that they’ve left Marega behind and opted to take Vincent Aboubakar to Glasgow instead.
Marega hasn’t been seen in a Porto shirt since the 1-1 draw with Rangers a fortnight ago where Filip Helander stood out against the physical threat of the Malian forward.

Marega, who was linked with a £36m move to Manchester United as early as last season, is the physical focal point of the Porto side.
His absence will hand the Rangers defence a boost but they will have do deal with another threat in Aboubakar instead.
That said, highly rated Cameroonian forward Aboubakar has hardly played this season after damaging ligaments in his left knee last season.
Whoever Porto do decide to go with against Rangers, you can be certain it will represent a significant challenge for the Ibrox side.
Rangers can be confident going into the match having secured a point in Porto in the same fixture two weeks ago.

But there are no easy games at this level and Steven Gerrard will need his side to max out if they’re to achieve success this Thursday.
Is this the starting XI to deliver an iconic night at Ibrox?
