Rangers will play in front of a 3750 strong crowd when they travel to Belgium for their Europa League match with Standard Liege.
The number is just over half the 7000 fans originally mooted but it will still be the first time the Ibrox club have played in front of fans this season.
The Belgian Jupiler League club made the announcement on their official website this afternoon.
“Following a consultation between the City of Liège and our club, the local authorities authorize the presence of a restricted public limited to 3,750 people during our European meeting this Thursday 6:55 pm against the Scots of Rangers FC,” reads a Standard Liege statement.
Rangers are yet to play in front of a crowd this season as a coronavirus lock-out continues across the UK with cases rising all over Britain.
But with UEFA allowing clubs the opportunity to fill up to 30% of stadiums, local and national guidelines permitting, it appears the Gers will face a crowd in Liege on October 22nd.
The Daily Record had previously claimed that 7000 supporters would be able to enter the ground.
The news also comes after Polish opponents Lech Poznan announced that they are hopeful of playing in front of 10,000 fans when Rangers come to visit in December.
“We intend to put on sale around 10,000 tickets in line with Polish guidelines,” said Lech Poznan spokesman Maciej Henszel [Scottish Sun].

“Season ticket holders will have priority and there will be no away fans.”
At present supporters are not allowed into grounds in Scotland with Rangers last playing in front of a crowd at Ibrox in March against Bayer Leverkusen.
